I am always wondering about "why Kannada language don't have enough fonts in the digital graphics world?". So i started a query about that. After few days i get to know that software support for ASCII kannada font is too poor and glyph's are also very tough compared to English ( because next key changes the glyph of previous one). Only good software is Kannada Nudi 5.0 published by government of Karnataka and that also stopped updates and support. But it has enough feature to write in design softwares like Photoshop, after effects and also in Autodesk maya. Then i started making a font based on the base Nudi font.
I came across many font designing softwares but i need a simple (noob friendly) and free software. Fontforge (https://fontforge.github.io) come in handy for me. it has all the features i needed including rulers and editing existing truetype font.
Inspired by drama titles on tents, some old kannada movie titles (mayoora and bhaktha prahlada) i tried my first font and named it as sequenced to nudi existing fonts.
"share and support" that will make me happy and encourage to make many more fonts.
